Kaplan Celebrates National Donut Day

Celebrated in the USA, #NationalDonutDay occurs on the first Friday in June every year. The donut is one of North America's most popular desserts, and you can find amazing and unique donuts in bakeries across the USA and Canada. Today, this holiday celebrates these sweet and delicious treats; however the holiday was originally created in 1938 by the Salvation Army, who wanted to honor the people who served donuts to soldiers during World War 1 to remind the soldiers of home.

To celebrate one of our favorite desserts, we’ve decided to share some fun donut facts, alongside delicious looking photos taken by our students at Kaplan International English New York
